BEAT THE HEAT: Potentially Life Saving Advice

Hey Everybody, how's it going! I know it has been a while since I made a weather update. Mainly because we haven't had any particular weather anomalies that has prompted one. But, I'm extremely concerned about people actually knowing, or practicing heat safety. I mean really, in the wintertime you dress in layers right? Why do we do that? Because it's cold and we don't want to freeze to death. Well in the Summer, why is it difficult to wear light, and few clothes, and drink water? In the winter on a 20 degree day, we dress in layers and drink hot chocolate. but In the summer on a 100 degree day, we cut grass at 3pm in the evening and fall out in the middle of the yard..... That doesn't make any sense!! IF YOU MUST VENTURE OUTSIDE YOUR HOME In the Hottest parts of the day (12 Noon - 5pm) DRESS LIGHTLY, AND CARRY/DRINK LIQUID!!!!! Simple Instructions! If you're breathing hard enough to open your mouth and breathe, then you need a break!!
This is the Latest Run on the NAM ( North American Model) this image is valid between the hours of NOON and 3pm Tomorrow Afternoon.... 100 Degree's for central Arkansas. STAY INDOORS OR IN THE SHADE Until It cool down! Nothing is serious enough to be out in that Heat.
This is the NAM Heat Index Map. Heat Index is what it actually feels like outside to the human being, heat index factors in the air temperature, humidity, and different atmospheric conditions. All of those things combine to create a different SIMULATED temperature of what it feels like.
So this is courtesy of The National Weather Service in North Little Rock there have been reports of moderate to severe drought conditions across North, East, and Central parts of the state. This means that burning stuff is prohibited by anyone that live in those drought areas. The wildfire dangers are very high in drought areas, so do NOT flick cigarette buds out or nothing like that.

HEAT SAFETY IS EVERYBODY'S RESPONSIBILITY, if you have animals, do NOT let them out, leave them out, or feed them during the hottest hours of the day. CHECK ON THE ELDERLY.... If your house is smoking hot, you turn the air on, some older people don't have that kind of sense, or awareness. Heat safety is not an individual thing, it's everybody's responsibility to care for one another. Yes, there are chances for scattered showers during the evening time, they are often good downpours, and they will cool your area off if one move over, but those showers are VERY hit or miss, so don't bank on rain, especially if you're in a bigger city like Little Rock.

DO NOT LEAVE YOUR KIDS AND PETS IN THE CAR!!!!!
