1rst Official Winter Weather Update: ArkanFreeze 2020!!

        Hey everybody, and Happy Thanksgiving! I hope everything is well with everybody, and all is safe! Enjoy your Holidays, and Black Friday shopping. It's officially time for our first Official Winter Weather Update of 2020! I'm sure this year this is Winter Weather Update #1 out of Many this season, and I'm sure most of them will be Temperature related, I don't think we'll have much in the way of Consistent precipitation, but we'll definitely be freezing! Speaking of Freezing Temperatures, that's what this Update is about. Some Weather Models were hitting at a chance for some wintery mix in certain sections of the state in the wee hours Monday Morning, I do not think it's impossible, but I don't think it's likely either. 

          So about the upcoming chance for freezing temperatures. The temps have already dropped fairly low in certain areas of the state already thus far this season. But here in Central Arkansas, we have yet to reach the actual freezing temperature mark this year. I think there is a great chance on Monday, November 30th, at some point in between the hours of 12am Midnight, and 6am Monday Morning, temperatures could touch/get close to freezing in sections of Central Arkansas. There is also a chance for temperatures at or around freezing Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday! The first week in December is looking to be seriously cold for Arkansas! Look's like our Arkansas Winter is about to set in and get Comfortable! Check the Images Below!

This Image is the GFS (Global Forecasting System) this is the 18z Run, which is the 12Noon Thanksgiving run, so this is the latest of the model run. This Image is valid for Monday Morning between the hours of Midnight and 6am. So this Image shows near freezing temperatures in Central Arkansas on Monday Morning!
This is the GFS 18z Thanksgiving run valid Tuesday December 1rst, and the day looks to be starting off at or around freezing in a major area of the State. So come Tuesday Morning, do not be surprised if you walk outside and Shiver!! That time of the Year is Here!!! 
This Image is the GFS valid Thursday December 3rd between the hours of Midnight and 6am in the morning. Obviously Cold, and Near freezing temperatures possible in West, North, and Central Sections of the state. In North Arkansas the temperatures are predicted be Below freezing.
This is the GFS valid Friday, December 4th, this is valid between the hours of Midnight and 6am in the morning. The temperatures are predicted to be at, or near freezing for the majority of the state.

This is just one Model Run of Once Model out of many, this forecast is subject to chance a little bit, these temperatures can go up or down, and the locations may vary. If I spot any significant changes in the model guidance, I'll do another update. We are still, at most several days away from the particular time period that I'm talking about, so there are definite uncertainties. But, On another note, with a A/O turning more, and more negative as we move further into December, I WOULD NOT be surprised if we saw a hit or miss shot at some Winter Precipitation at some point around, or before Christmas!!!!! *DON'T HOLD ME TO THAT*

          Hey everybody, I hope all is well. Thankfully the More Recent Tornadoes we have had has not caused any damage other than crop damage. Those are the reports I enjoy reading. The only thing is, we have been getting this lucky because so far everybody has been paying attention to Weather Warnings, and taking them seriously. I also have to give Credit to The Arkansas Storm Team, and KATV 7 for their amazing coverage over the past several events. These News Agencies have been coordinating at record Levels with Storm Chasers in the field getting accurate accounts for everything that's going on, and they have done a great job at getting that out over the air to the public. The National Weather Service has done a Great Job at Their accuracy forecasting upcoming Severe Weather Events, and getting those warnings posted as soon as they detect dangerous weather, I Love it when Broadcast Media, and Meteorology work hand in hand, and save lives....... Weekly Weather Forecast 7/31/2017 - 8/5/2017

     Hey everybody How's it going! This weekly update is just a tadd late, but it's here! Last week was a hot one! But we ended on a good note because the night time Low's from about Thursday - Friday on out was AWESOME!!!! It has felt phenomenal the past few nights, including last night. That trend is basically going to continue throughout this week with a general overall temperature improvement.      Rain Chances - Tuesday night there is a good chance for showers, at least in West Arkansas. Wednesday looks good. But another disturbance will move through late in the evening Thursday, and into Friday morning. I see more of a chance for widespread rain then thunder showers, but there may be some embedded thundershowers in there. The chance for severe weather is minimal due to the general lack of energy with this. PRELIMINARY Christmas Winter Weather Forecast

      Hey everybody, how's it going? I hope everybody is having a fantastic day so far! I've been watching the GFS very closely over the last 6-7 model runs, and I've been watching something fairly interesting over the last few runs. The GFS has been fairly consistent with the possibilities, but inconsistent with the exact time, and locations as to be expected from 300+ hours out into the future. But from this far in advance the GFS is fairly consistent with the possibilities. So let's take a quick look shall we!? This is the Tuesday noon run of the GFS (Global Forecasting System) weather model, and as you can see here, the GFS has a system moving in from the Southwest, and a arctic front moving in from the Northwest , combine those two, and this is the obvious possibility.
