December 2020 Winter Weather Update!!!!

Hey everybody, how's it going!? I said a couple of Updates back that a shot at some Winter Precipitation before Christmas was possible!!! Here we are today 24 Hours away from a fairly decent chance at some accumulating Winter Weather in the State. Now about 2 weeks ago, we did have a brief mix from Rain-Sleet in Central Arkansas. Certain Higher Elevations in the state switched completely over from rain to snow, but the difference between then, and now is what happened some weeks ago wasn't planned, it was possible but not planned or anticipated, this system is anticipated to bring Wintery Precipitation into Arkansas. So let's not waste any more time, let's get right into this.
So this is the Latest Data Set of the NAM (North American Model), this map is valid between 12Noon and 3pm Sunday Evening, and the model projects a changeover from rain to snow already in Northwest Arkansas. Due to the Onset being so Early in the day, there will be accumulating Snowfall in Northwest, and Parts of North Central Arkansas, the particular areas, and amounts remain uncertain.
This is the NAM Valid in between the Hours of 9pm and 12am Midnight Sunday/Monday. This Map shows a Changeover from Rain to Snow in Central Arkansas on the Backside of everything as it moves out. This is just the NAM weather Model, this is just One Run of One Model, so I wouldn't take it literally. This is just a projection.
This is the HRRR (High Resolution Rapid Refresh Weather Model) this is Valid 6pm Sunday Evening. This particular Weather Model is a little bit more aggro with the cold air, this model shows an early changeover from rain to snow here in Central Arkansas Earlier in the Evening on Sunday. If this verify, then we could see some Light accumulations in Central Arkansas.
This is the HRRR Valid between the Hours of 6pm and 9pm Sunday Evening. This shows a mixture of Precipitation in Central Arkansas as everything moves out.

As You can see, the Models show some inconsistencies with how soon the changeover happens here, and where. So Even 24 hours out, there is still some uncertainty for certain areas, and who gets what. But one thing for certain, Northwest, and North Central Arkansas will get Snow for Sure, and they will also get accumulating Snowfall. As for Central Arkansas, we will get some snow, there will be a changeover at some point Sunday Night, but I do NOT think Central Arkansas will see accumulating Snowfall. There has been a Winter Weather Advisory issued for Northwest Arkansas.   Do Not Be surprised if Central Arkansas see some slick spots on Bridges and Overpasses. Northwest Arkansas will get some accumulations that will cause travel issues for anybody on the roads.
