Why A Warm Winter???
Hey GoodMorning Everybody! I've gotten lots of questions about why it's been so warm and pleasant in winter time. It's Unusual to be this warm, but it's very simple as to why the weather is like this.
Okay so do y'all remember January-March of this year? It got COLD and we start to get hit and miss shots of Ice. Come March of this year we started having Snow Storms. The Strongest Snow Storm was Mid March, dropped about 4" here in the Little Rock Area, brought TOTAL WHITE OUT conditions, it was daytime, remember that? Winter was LATE right? Okay now remember it was cold all the way into LATE April, Early May right? Spring didn't kick in until Late May Early June Right?! Now Remember back in June when our "Spring" Kicked in during our "Summer" Season? We got HISTORIC FLOODING!!! Arkansas River Flooded out, overflowed. North Little Rock Flooded, Big Damn Bridge Flooded, Riverfront Flooded, and nearly a MILLION other places around Little Rock, FLOODED. Almost EVERYDAY of June we received some type of rain. Crazy Right? Summer didn't kick in until JULY! It didn't get hot or really dry until MID July. That's when our "Summer" started. It got hot, and DRY. We went through an extended period of DRY conditions at the Very End of Summer. Fall came in Late, Didn't really feel like Fall until October. Went through November fairly Mild. Fall Like temperatures. Fall was the only season we've had that was somewhat normal. But Fall has been Long! To make up the time that it should've BEEN feeling like this since September! These are September Temperatures.
So you see what the Theme of this year has been? LATE!!!! Everything has been LATE! Now of course there are a bunch of Scientific Names us Forecasters have for stuff like this. Words like "El Ninio." But Basically all that stuff really mean is LATE, AND BIPOLAR! That's the meaning normal people understand, right?
So as far as Winter, it will be no exception.... LATE! Now our winter's don't really kick in until January anyways, so Timing will be no constellation. BUT what makes this Winter Special is the late symptoms! Cold air, cooler ground, cooler atmosphere, cooler sky's. Typically we would get hit and miss chances of Ice or Snow in December due to the changes in Temperature. But this year Winter will be Dominated by a Late Fall. Meaning by January we will only get hit and miss shots at Ice, not a lot of frozen stuff until late anyways because the ground is warm due to Late Warm temperatures of Fall.
