Dry Quiet Weather Ahead, Is The Rat Right Or Not??

     Hey everybody! Good Evening, how's it going! I know it's been a couple of weeks, well at least a week since my last update. I've been sick, yeah for the first time in TWO good years, Im sick! It Sucks, I blame it all on this schizophrenic weather that we have here in Arkansas... It's that, and the fact that quite frankly, we just haven't had much going on with the weather lately. Since that last good snowstorm, we have actually been quiet, not much to update on when you're quiet. For the most part we look to remain quiet, but there are a couple of things that are at least worth mentioning at this point.
     Some Forecasters have hinted at a wave of moisture passing through on Saturday with showers moving through or at least light PRECIPITATION scattered around Southwest and West Arkansas as the wave of moisture moves past. It will be LIGHT! Nothing big, and it will be in the air! Now as far as the Next wave of moisture, it will be in the form of a Frontal Boundary that's slated to move through overnight Sunday and into Monday. I DO NOT expect moisture to be widespread, so the amounts will be LIGHT in nature and I'm talking Snow Flurries at best, for NORTH Arkansas at best. It will just be cold everywhere else!
Now the GFS hints at another system moving in with Moisture for Valentine's Day Weekend, It's not reliable this far out. The GFS is the ONLY Forecast Model by the way that picks up on any moisture overnight Sunday and into this coming Monday. So we'll see.

As you can see there's not much going on in the jungle here it's just hit and miss shots of light rain or snow flurries. Other than that, we look to be Cool, Warm, then Cold, then possibly Warm again. You all know that Rat didn't see his Shadow, so spring could be on the horizon early according to the little nasty rodent (I don't like Little Animals). But we still have PLENTY time Left for Winter. Winter Weather Rollercoaster!

     GoodEvening everybody! I hope everybody had a safe day today. We got good amounts of snow and other frozen precipitation up north this morning. Accumulations were a dusting to an inch as expected. Here in central Arkansas we got some good snow/ice, it wasn't enough to be measured but it was enough to cause travel problems. I forgot about that in the last post I made, I forgot about how a DRIZZLE is enough to cause 15 car Pileups here in Central Arkansas because you know, everybody knows how to drive..... But anyways, I digress! More Winter Stuff Coming, let's get into it!      So next weather maker coming in will be Late Tomorrow into Wednesday, now for the most part everybody will be ABOVE freezing tomorrow so the only frozen precipitation will be in North Arkansas. Models disagreed with how far South the winter precipitation will spread. Weather Models are bad at best with cold air, they often underestimate cold air. Overnight Storms

     Hey everybody, how's it going! I hope you guys are having a good day so far. I know I haven't done any weather updates recently, haven't had much going on weather wise, and I'm in the middle of a busy work week, so I just haven't had time to do anything. But I'm making time today, because we have a storm system coming in overnight tonight, and into tomorrow morning. So lets take a dive into it aye.     As far as Timing goes, It's looking like Late this Evening in Oklahoma, Later tonight in West Arkansas, and moving left to right across the state during the Overnight Hours. So for Central Arkansas 12-2AM would be a good bet, and East Arkansas 2-7AM would be a good bet.     As far as what the threats are, well mainly due solely to the timing of the night this will move in, the MAIN threats are Hail, and Damaging Straight Line Winds.
