Preliminary Thanksgiving Forecast 11/21/15

Hey Good Afternoon everybody, how's it going!! I was reviewing the weather models this morning and saw a few interesting things that will get us into the Christmas Holiday spirit. The temperatures will go ahead and make that winterly swing. I'm starting to see that transition from fall to winter in the weather patterns. Today is cold and windy right? Typical Winter day.  For the first time this year we've got a Freeze Warning In effect. I'll include a picture of it below. Freeze warning means it will be COLD, that means if you have sensitive Plants, any animals; cats, dogs, get them inside in some heat. If your pets freeze to death, it's a crime and you can go to jail. If you work outside, dress accordingly, the wind will be high, and it will be COLD.
These are the expected Low temperatures for tonight!!! This is courtesy of the National Weather Service in North Little Rock. Low 20s to even TEENS in North Arkansas, upper 20s here in Central Arkansas. Low 30s in far South Arkansas. People this is some COLD AIR! Thats why there's a Freeze Warning in effect for the entire state. Plant's, animals, people, get inside. Don't have your poor dog out in that air, that's a crime. Don't have your poor plants out in that air, it's unfair. Don't be out in that air yourself, it's unsafe.
It won't warm up much by Sunday either. Dress accordingly.

Now on to Thanksgiving, there is a GREAT chance for rain on Thanksgiving, and Black Friday. There is a Low pressure system being shot out of Canada and Alaska that will be falling down through the center of the country. Anytime systems like this come, they come with really cold air. Sometimes the air is behind, sometimes the air is in front. There will be a lot of moisture associated with this system, the chance is NOT there for Winter precipitation at this time, but if the cold air gets here before Thanksgiving, then we will have a cooler than normal Thanksgiving. If the cold air doesn't get here before Thanksgiving, then it will be WARM. Either way it go, that weekend after Thanksgiving will be cold. Well cool should I say. The rain is slated to start at some point during the day Thanksgiving, and run through Saturday. I'm sure this will change bc we are still many days out, but at this time, this is what is expected.

Be careful driving in those high winds today! I appreciate you all for coming here to the Weather Hawk's Blog for weather information!!
