One Extreme To Another

At 28° tonight here in the Little Rock Metro area we are wayy warmer tonight than we was last night. Last night we got down to potentially deadly cold temperatures. Now thankfully due a Massive amount of Weather Information, tips and hints and keeping people informed we didn't have any problems. That's what I Love about doing this. Educating people on the Weather, and teaching people how to properly prepare and handle extreme weather. Then when everything goes smoothly, I Feel accomplished. Like my job is done you know. It's a great feeling. Now I mentioned in My Last Update that there was a CHANCE for some frozen stuff this weekend. That chance has become more prominent now, and I'm starting to worry. Now folks understand something. I'm not expecting an Ice Storm. In no way, shape, or form do I think this will be a HUGE deal around Arkansas. But however, it will be just enough to cause some serious problems on those roads. Now two tenths of an inch of Ice accumulations don't SOUND like much in the real world. But then again, it doesn't take much Ice to cause serious issues. Come Saturday Night once this stuff start falling BE VERY CAREFUL. LOTS of People here In Arkansas Die every year in Car Crashes. Half of those Crashes are during Bad Weather. Mainly due to the Lack of Responsibility. People get out on these roads and do what they want instead of what they're told and it always bites them in the ass. I get VERY tired of hearing about people dying in Car Crashes here in Arkansas because folks want to Drive Fast and be Stupid. When those roads slick up, Stay at Home!!!  If you have to drive,  DRIVE SLOW AND BE CAREFUL. Its just that Simple.
Now Im expecting this stuff to Start LATE Saturday Night, maybe before Midnight in Southwest Arkansas. By then it will start to spread North up I30 as we advance on into the Early morning Hours on Sunday. The Temperatures are expected to be below freezing at this time here at the ground level. The temperatures will be above freezing in the air right up above our heads which is why we will get freezing rain. It will be normal rain that freeze when it hit the ground or objects on it. That's whats called Freezing Rain. This will last on through the Morning on Sunday and Possibly into Sunday Afternoon. At some point it will change over to a plain old rain and we will have that until Sunday evening.

Now This Forecast will change as the days progress. It is only Thursday right now so there's still a long way to go.

As Always I appreciate all of you for choosing the Arkansas Weather Hawk to be Your go to guy for weather information. Have a Good and Warm Night Everybody!!!!

I am The Arkansas Weather Hawk
