SUNDAY MORNING ICE

         When It comes down to Winter Weather, I always prefer Sleet or Snow over Ice! Nobody wants or likes Ice. Freezing rain Is normal rain, that starts out leaving the cloud as Snow, it melts mid way down, then Refreeze when It hit th ground. Freezing rain shuts down Cities, Ice over roads, Bring down trees and Powerlines. Freezing Rain can cause a GREAT deal Of Damage. Now We Will get freezing rain tomorrow morning. It will prolly start raining here in Central Arkansas somewhere around the 3AM period. It will be below freezing so it should start somewhere in between 3-6AM here in the Central Arkansas area. I'm going to post a picture of the expected Time frame on the Incoming Weather. Now THANKFULLY This is the weekend. This could be a huge deal if this was a Week day. On Sundays the roads are not too busy so that's good. People going to church, Praise God at home if you have to. But if it's bad Don't get out on that road. Church is not worth risking your life over. It's going to be there Wednesday or next Sunday. If it's too bad then STAY AT HOME. This Weather Will cause issues out there on those roads. That's why I URGE EVERYBODY that gets out on that Highway to BE CAREFUL Drive SLOW!!!

Here's an area of Winter Weather Advisories, and Freezing Rain Advisories for Most of the state. Winter Weather Advisory is Blue, Freezing Rain Advisory is Pink. 

Now this is as of 9am this is what is expected or at least guessed of what the Radar is supposed to look like. Now as far as timing, I think from about 2-3 or 4am for Areas of Southwest and west Arkansas. Then it Spreads North closer to 4am into Central Arkansas. By 9am the rest of the Advisory Area should either have stuff happening or already had stuff coming down. 

Now as you can see. We are Not expecting MUCH in terms of accumulation when it comes to this event. That's why Nobody has mentioned any Ice Storms or anything such as that it takes .25th of an inch of Ice to Cause issues with trees and Power Lines. Only .1" is expected. Wayyy below Ice Storm material. But however, given the Temperatures of the air and the ground it is enough to cause issues on the road. That's  why I urged caution on those roads, if not just to stay at home. It's a Sunday, watch movies, stay warm, cook, clean the house, do laundry, make Tomorrow a house day if at all possible. 

Now Like I said, I'm not expecting any major damages or accumulations from the Freezing Rain tomorrow, however, if there are any Power Outages, Entergy Arkansas have extra help armed and ready to handle any issues that may arise. I think the big deal tomorrow will be the Roads. Just drive SAFELY, I don't want anybody dying on me. By Noon here in Little Rock, it should be a plain old cold rain for the rest of the day. The temperature will rise and the roads will melt if they Ice any. So by Evening or so Everything should be fine here In the Metro area. 3pm for anywhere East or North of Little Rock.
