WINTER RETURNS!

This has been one mild winter so far ayee! If you know me then you know The Arkansas Weather Hawk Loves some good ole Winter Weather. But this year has gone against the grain. Welcome to Arkansas though right!? Well Winter Returns Friday with what I've dubbed as Friday Trouble!!
Now we have Cool air coming in from the North,  with Moisture coming in from the South and West.  When Moisture meets cold air we all know frozen precipitation of some type is just a given. But what throws a monkey wrench in everything is two major issues that will prevent Accumulations, or Weather Closures.  First and foremost, this winter has been mild for the most part, we just recently had very mild above average temperatures which for January were pleasant, but because of those mild temperatures the ground is fairly warm.  It would take at least almost a week of below freezing temperatures to get the ground to optimal temperature for freezing stuff.  It will be mild up until Friday. So the ground will be Warm!  Nothing will stick.  Secondly, this will all start as rain.  History and experience tells me that when precipitation start out as rain, it's MUCH harder for the Snow to stick to the ground when it's Wet vs when it's dry. When it start as straight snow it always sticks better.  Water traps heat which doesn't do any good to get accumulations.
At this point, I expect Snow for a large area of Arkansas from Southwest to Northeast. I don't expect Much if ANY accumulations. FOOD FOR THOUGHT, The atmosphere is relatively Dry.  So it will take a while for the stuff to even make it to the ground. Which all of that is just wasted moisture if you're looking for some  good snow.

Now Keep in Mind,  NONE OF THIS is for certain or published in the book. It's Arkansas, It's Arkansas Weather, so this forecast will change. I'll Update as it do and bring you guys up to speed. But at this point in time, this is what I think for now.

As always I appreciate everybody for Choosing me to be your go to guy for Weather information, and visiting the Weather Hawks Blogg. Have a Blessed Night Everybody!!!
